For 2018-2019, Furlow Charter School will be open to any Sumter County child in grade K-11, subject to availability. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability or any other legally protected class. 

Applications will be accepted between January 1st and February 14th, 2018 for the 2018-2019 school year and can be downloaded here or picked up in the FCS Main Office, located at 63 Valley Drive.

If the number of applicants exceeds the number of spaces available, all applicants who applied during the open application period will have an equal chance at admission through a random selection process. This lottery will be public and advertised in advance with a non-biased third party witnessing and certifying the validity of the lottery.

Offers of admission will proceed with the first randomly selected student from each grade, to the next student, and so on until all available slots are offered. The waiting list for available seats will also be populated by the public lottery. In the lottery, the following enrollment priorities will be followed:

  • A sibling of a student enrolled in Furlow Charter School
  • A student whose parent or guardian is a Board Member or a full-time teacher at Furlow Charter School

Once a student enrolls and attends, they retain placement in the school unless they withdraw.
